About the diversity programme

The IOP and diversity - The Diversity Forum

The Diversity Forum was set up in July 2007 as a result of a recommendation from the Diversity Committee that the Institute looks at ways of mainstreaming diversity internally. The Forum will develop actions to embed diversity in the operational aspects of Institute activities.

The role of the Diversity forum is to co-ordinate and promote action on diversity at an operational level in the Institute by:

  • Developing a diversity action plan
  • Identifying and sharing best practice
  • Developing processes for monitoring diversity
  • Raising awareness of diversity
  • Integrating diversity in development of policies and activities
  • Ensuring that the impact of policies on diversity is properly considered
  • Responding as appropriate to operational issues raised by the Diversity committee
